Job Title: Head of Leadership and Learning - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Luton - 3 days per week

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced senior professional to lead our Learning and Leadership Centre of Expertise. You will have the opportunity to shape our development strategy and foster a culture of continuous learning. Reporting directly to the People Experience Director, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive programmes aimed at nurturing talent, enhancing colleague skills, and cultivating leadership culture across our organisation.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will collaborate across the business to define and refine our learning development strategy in alignment with our business objectives. You will identify emerging trends and best practices in learning and leadership development to inform strategic decision-making. Your responsibilities will include introducing innovative learning programmes tailored to different employee levels and overseeing our early careers strategy. Your role will involve developing organisational capabilities and behavioural frameworks to support ongoing business transformation and cultural change, including our leadership development offer.  Leading a team of L&D and Early Careers SMEs, you will ensure resources are strategically aligned while overseeing the day-to-day running of the COE.

What you’ll need to do the role

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a proven track record as a subject matter expert in learning and leadership development. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to set strategic visions and directions, coupled with strong people and team leadership skills. Passionate about Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion, you will ensure these values are reflected in our learning offerings. Your high level of commercial acumen will enable you to develop relevant and accessible programmes tailored to our business needs. Innovation and change leadership are essential, along with a broad external network and knowledge of best practices in leading organisations. With exceptional relationship-building skills, you will establish credible connections across all levels of the organisation. While knowledge of early careers and the apprenticeship levy is advantageous, it is not essential. Experience working in a European business and familiarity with unionised environments are preferred.
